Privacy policy
How I look after the information you share with me. Last updated October 2026.
Who I am
Buck Up Buttercup is Eloise's babysitting service in Matlock, Derbyshire. I'm responsible for the personal information you give me through this website. You can contact me about privacy through the contact page.
What I collect, and why
- Booking requests: your name, email, phone number, address and postcode, your children's ages, and anything you write in the notes. I use these to check I can take the booking, confirm it, look after your children safely, and take payment.
- Messages: your name, email, optional phone number and your message, so I can reply.
If you tell me about allergies, medical needs or other health information, I'll only use it to care for your children safely. By including it, you agree to me using it for that purpose.
The legal basis is taking steps to arrange and provide the babysitting you've asked for (a contract), and your consent for any health information.
Who else handles it
I don't sell or share your information. It passes through these services, which handle it on my behalf:
- Cloudflare hosts this website and checks forms for spam (Turnstile).
- Resend sends booking emails.
- Google (Calendar) stores confirmed bookings in my diary.
- postcodes.io looks up your postcode (only the postcode) to check the distance from Matlock.
How long I keep it
The website itself doesn't store your details in a database. Booking emails and diary entries are kept for up to 12 months after your last booking, then deleted.
Cookies and visitor statistics
This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. The spam check on the forms may set a cookie that's needed for security.
I count visits using Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or identify you. It only tells me things like how many people visited and which pages they looked at.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information I hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Just get in touch. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
