Questions & answers

The things parents ask most often. If your question isn't here, just send me a message.

What ages of children do you look after?

I look after children aged 3 to 12.

What are your rates?

£8.50 per hour for up to 2 children, and £9.00 per hour for over 2 children.

Any time after midnight is £12.00 per hour, however many children there are. The minimum booking is 1 hour.

When you check availability, you'll see the price before you send your request.

What's your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel, please let me know as soon as you can. Cancelling on an earlier day is free. If you cancel on the day of the booking, half of the booking cost is still payable.

How do I pay?

You can pay by bank transfer within 48 hours after the booking (I'll send my details when I confirm), or in cash on the night.

Card payments are coming soon.

Which areas do you cover?

I'm based in Matlock and cover anywhere within 10 miles, including places like Darley Dale, Cromford, Wirksworth, Bakewell, Belper and Chesterfield. Enter your postcode when you check availability and it'll tell you straight away.

Are you DBS checked and first aid trained?

Yes. I have an enhanced DBS certificate and Paediatric First Aid training. I'm happy to show you my certificates when we meet.

Can we meet before the first booking?

Of course. I'm always happy to meet you and your children before a first booking, so everyone feels comfortable. Just mention it in your booking request or send me a message.

Can you do bedtimes, meals and homework?

Yes. I'll follow your children's usual routines, including bath and bedtime, prepare simple meals and snacks, and help with homework. Just let me know what normally happens and any house rules.

Can you give my child medicine?

Only with your written permission and clear instructions (what, how much and when). Please tell me about any allergies or medical needs when you book.

Are you OK with pets?

Yes, I love animals! Please tell me about any pets in your booking notes.

How do you get home after a late booking?

For bookings that finish late, I'll need a lift home or to be collected. Please let me know when you book how that will work.

Can I book you regularly?

Yes, I'd love to. Send a request for the first date and mention in the notes that you'd like a regular slot (for example every Tuesday evening), and we'll sort out the rest.

What happens in an emergency?

Your children's safety always comes first. I'll deal with the situation using my first aid training, call 999 if needed, and contact you straight away.

Please make sure I have your phone number, an emergency contact, and any medical information before you go out.
